Karina was born and raised in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. She grew up with her parents and an older sister. She attended Hansol High School. At that time, she was a nano influencer with a much smaller following.

Karina, originally known as Jimin during her ulzzang days, was a well-known figure in the online community, recognised for her exceptional visuals. Like many influencers, she collaborated with brands, modelling fashion items for her audience. She had around 5,000 followers.
